PULSE

PULSE is an open-source platform for browser-based cognitive measurement. It is built for short, controlled tasks with transparent logging, local-first storage, and explicit consent boundaries.

Status

  • Public deployment Live on Cloudflare Pages as a static frontend.
  • Current scope The public static app remains frontend-only. The PULSE repository is preparing a local-first v0.4.0-rc.1 surface with Arithmetic, Flanker, SART, and N-back.
  • Data posture The current public build keeps data in the browser by default. CSV export is available. The hosted upload backend is not enabled in the public app.
  • Citation A Zenodo DOI will be attached at the first full public citation release.

Tasks shipped

Arithmetic

Timed speed-accuracy block with structured difficulty levels.

Flanker

Arrow interference task with congruent, incongruent, and neutral trials.

SART

Sustained attention task with a rare no-go target inside a long fixed stream.

N-back

Fixed-block working-memory task included in the local-first RC surface.

Research boundaries

PULSE is a measurement platform, not a brain-training product. It does not make medical, diagnostic, or cognitive-improvement claims. Public deployment exists so the task surface can be inspected and used conservatively before a hosted research backend is turned on.
